CVC: BOARD MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

It was evident at our May and August meetings that everyone has had an exciting 2011 season thus far.  Each of our Member Organizations are busy and we’ve had significant results on each of our initiatives.

Chairman’s Message

Board Chairman, Sam Lupas, spoke highly of the interactive leadership both on the Board and on the Initiative Committees.  With the summer season upon us, he called on everyone to remain aware of the very positive impact we are making on Cashiers and the necessity for Board Representatives to communicate back to their memberships.  This is the way our actions remain transparent and a valid consensus is built for our initiatives.

Treasurer’s Report

Treasurer Bob Starkey reported that we are ahead of budget for the year, our fundraising is on track , and we continue to maintain a good cash position.  Budget variances on the expense side were discussed and explained and  no major budget adjustments were necessary.

Fundraising Report

Sarah Nelson reported that we have multiple grant applications in progress.  Of significant note, we have successfully reached an agreement with a new large donor to offset the conclusion of one of our existing 3-year partnerships.
